What is a Doula?

A Birth Doula is a trained professional to support you and your family before, during, and after labor and birth.

Ways a Doula can support you :

  • Emotional Support : I believe the mind and body need to become one when in labor and birth. As a Doula, I will assist in being a safe space, open mind, open heart for you and your family.
  • Informational Support : I am always researching on my own time, head in a book, and staying up to date with evidence based birth information to better assist my clients. Being well educated in medical interventions and decoding medical jargon.
  • Advocacy : I pride myself in teaching my clients that you have rights, this is YOUR birth. I will aid in assisting in information needed to assist in any decisions.
  • Physical Support : Using evidence based birth techniques such as counter pressure techniques, Rebozo, massage, labor positions, aromatherapy, and breathing techniques to support during labor. All can be taught to partner or family to be a part of the journey too!

A Doula recognizes that birth is a sacred event and their role is to HONOR and PROTECT the mothers journey, ensuring she feels safe, heard, and understood.

Why a Doula?

Continuous labor support has been statistically proven to improve the outcome of a more positive birth experience.

I am are here to follow your lead, share informed birth based data for you to make informed choices for yourself and baby.

remember; this is your birth! you do not become hospital property as soon as you walk into the hospital to have your baby
